He has facilitated executive roundtables, moderated panels, and presented workshops and seminars to groups ranging in size from intimate circles of ten to jam-packed keynote auditoriums of 2,000. SAMPLE SPEAKING TOPICS Tr e n d s i n P h i l a n t h r o p y & S o c i a l I n n o v a t i o n : How can nonprofits and foundations navigate through these challenging economic times, and in so doing capitalize on some of the most exciting trends to face our sector, including social entrepreneurship, social media, mobile, and next generation leadership? Heyman delivers helpful resources and keen insights into how the landscape is changing, and how to seize related opportunities. So c i a l M e d i a f o r So c i a l G o od : Facebook is now the equivalent of the third biggest country on the globe, and is growing at a rate equal to the subscription base of the LA Times every day. In a world where user-generated content is king, how can social benefit organizations use the power of Twitter, YouTube, and other “Web 2.0” powerhouses to raise funds, connect with constituents, and advance their missions? To p Te n F u n d r a i s i n g Ti p s : Darian shares practical, tactical solutions from his book that help nonprofit leaders get dollars in the door. In this interactive workshop, which has been received incredibly well at dozens of venues across the world, Heyman provides concrete tips and tools for individual giving, foundation grants, corporate sponsorship, earned income, and online and peer-to-peer campaigns. So l u t i o n Sa l o n s : Transcending the traditional monologue-driven approach to public speaking, Heyman specializes in engaging leaders in interactive, dialog-based executive roundtables designed to untap the power of live gatherings and encourage community building through resource sharing. In these real-time “thinkubators,” participants each share brief introductions and overview the most significant challenge facing their efforts, followed by a dynamic exchange of ideas, contacts, tools, and experiences. So Y o u W a n n a b e a So c i a l E n t r e p r e n e u r ? : There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the term, but what exactly does it mean, and what does it look like in the real world? Heyman reviews the characteristics that differentiate leading social entrepreneurs from their peers, and conveys the “tips for success” needed when applying innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset to social change work. Ne x t G e n e r a t i o n L e a d e r s h i p : With approximately 78 million Baby Boomers retiring, only 38 million Generation Xers to replace them, and with over 1.5 million 501(c)(3) organizations now registered in the USA, many people are concerned of a looming leadership vacuum in the nonprofit sector. What can and ought to be done to increase the flow of new leaders, retain and support our talent, engage the Boomers, and promote collaboration and alternatives to starting new organizations? Ho n i n g Y o u r E l e v a t o r P i t c h - O n l in e a n d I n P er so n : In a world where attention spans continue to shrink, how can you set your cause apart in both conversations and email campaigns? Heyman presents an interactive workshop, where participants share their passions and pitch as he remixes them in real time and offers actionable insights on how to frame messaging in a way that’s compelling, concise, and contagious. For booking inquiries please contact Darian Rodriguez Hey man directly at darian@darianhe yman.com or (415) 637 - 5062.
