Become an Officer of the Caucus

Executive Committee members commit to serving a two-year term. Each executive committee member has a specific area of responsibility and works with other executive members and board of directors in an integrated and collaborative manner to achieve the Caucus’ annual objectives and long-term goals.

Expectations include but are not limited to:

Each executive committee member has a specific area of responsibility and works with other executive members and board of directors in an integrated and collaborative manner to achieve the Caucus’ annual objectives and long-term goals. Expectations include but are not limited to:

    • Have fun and support fellow AFP Greater Florida Chapters and Caucus Board of Directors
    • Fulfill Executive Committee position’s duties, responsibilities, and expectations

Maintain accurate records of the position’s duties, responsibilities, and achievements

  • Participate in Board of Directors monthly calls (calls are not conducted during summer months)
  • Attend Planet Philanthropy
  • Attend the AFP Greater Florida Caucus retreat held at Planet Philanthropy and other applicable meetings (conference calls or in-person) that may be scheduled
  • Participate, as needed, in committees and task forces set-up to respond to a caucus and/or chapter needs
  • perform minimum required duties of the position

Application Process

  • Complete the online form Executive Committee application. Only AFP Greater Florida Caucus Chapter members in good standing are eligible to apply. The deadline for submitting applications is 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.
  • A member of the Nominating Committee will contact you to discuss your application and areas of interest.
  • Applicants will be notified on or before December 3, 2018, of the Nominating Committee’s recommendations for executive committee selection.
  • A proposed slate of the 2019 Executive Committee will be compiled by the Nominating Committee and emailed to the AFP Greater Florida Caucus by December 7, 2018.
  • A vote to approve the 2018 Board of Directors slate will occur on the AFP Greater Florida Caucus Conference Call on Thursday, December 20, 2018. Only AFP Greater Florida Caucus Members in good standing are eligible to vote; one vote per invested chapter.
  • Nominations may be made by others or through self-nomination. Additional pages may be attached as needed to answer the questions submitted. A resume should also be uploaded.

Chair Planet Philanthropy

Planet Philanthropy Chairs commit to serving a two-year term beginning the year prior to hosting the conference. In the first year, the chair shadows the host chair, becoming familiarized with the conference details and sharing responsibility for conference oversight. In the second year, the chair serves as host and lead on the conference working with a new chair to for support and training purposes.

The chairs of Planet Philanthropy have a specific area of responsibility and work with other executive members and board of directors in an integrated and collaborative manner to achieve the Caucus’ annual objectives and long-term goals.

Expectations include but are not limited to:

  • Have fun and support fellow AFP Greater Florida Chapters and Caucus Board of Directors
  • Fulfill position duties, responsabilities and expectations
  • Maintain accurate records of the position’s duties, responsibilities, and achievements
  • Participate and engage in executive committee meetings/calls
  • Participate in Board of Directors monthly calls
  • Attend the AFP Greater Florida Caucus retreat held at Planet Philanthropy and other applicable meetings (conference calls or in-person) that may be scheduled
  • Participate, as needed, in committees and task forces set-up to respond to a caucus and/or chapter needs
  • Preform minimum required duties of position

Application Process

  • Complete the attached Planet Philanthropy application. A resume should also be submitted. Only AFP Greater Florida Caucus Chapter members in good standing are eligible to apply. The deadline for submitting applications is 5:00 pm on June 30. Additional pages may be attached as needed to answer the questions below.
  • Submit the Nomination Form
  • The Executive Committee will review all applications in making the Chairperson selection. You will be contacted as needed to discuss your application.
  • Applicants will be notified on or before July 31 of the Executive Committee’s recommendations.
  • New leadership will be announced and emailed to the AFP Greater Florida Caucus by August 31.
  • Site locations will be reviewed by the Executive Committee beginning in the spring with a site selected by September 30.
