Caucus Update

Dear Planet Philanthropy Friends,

The 2021 Planet Philanthropy conference registration is now open! 

Register now to take advantage of early-bird rates! Early-bird registration will close on March 26, 2021. 

The two day Pre-Conference Capital Campaign Course presented by The Winkler Group and the one day CFRE Review Course led by Joan Kary, CFRE are also available for registration. 

The committee is working to provide you with a conference that you can feel comfortable attending.  Please watch for more communications.  

If you registered for the 2020 conference and kept your registration active (you did not request a refund or cancel payment), your registration will AUTOMATICALLY BE TRANSFERRED to the 2021 conference.  The system is currently updating to the 2021 conference. You will receive an automated registration confirmation this month. Thank you for your patience.

Welcome

Planet Philanthropy is the premier fundraising conference for Florida!

Attendees come from Miami to Jacksonville, Pensacola to Orlando and Tampa and everywhere in between! The conference also attracts fundraisers from all over the country and Puerto Rico. On average, over 300 nonprofit leaders from various organizations ranging from social services, education, health, religious, the arts and much more will join us to learn about the latest and greatest resources to enhance their knowledge and skills.

Conference Information 

We look forward to hosting Planet Philanthropy in person June 6-8, 2021. We are working with the Caribe Royale to provide a conference that you can feel comfortable attending.  Our  conference planning committee is consulting with the venue and event industry associations to incorporate best practices for health and safety, as well the recommendations of public health experts and standards set by the federal, state and local governments to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Attendees will have a shared role in providing a safe and healthy environment whereby agreeing to take specific precautions while at the conference such as wearing a mask at all times in public areas, engaging in appropriate social distancing, and avoiding risky environments like crowded bars. They also agree not to attend if they are ill or had recent exposure to a COVID-19 case. 

Registration Deadlines

Early bird registration will close on March 26, 2021.

Online registration will close on Friday, May 21, 2021.

Onsite registration will be available beginning Sunday, June 6, at 1:00 PM. Please contact treasurer@afpflorida.org in advance if you plan to register onsite.

Multiple Attendees

When purchasing multiple tickets for attendees, the main contact will receive an email with instructions to forward to the additional attendees in order for them to complete their own registration using the code provided.

Group Discounts

Register five people from your organization and the sixth person is FREE!

Scholarships

No conference scholarships are available through AFP Florida. Please consult your local AFP chapter for further information about the scholarships the chapter might offer.

Alice L. Ferris, MBA, CFRE, ACFRE, Founding Partner, has more than thirty years fundraising experience, not including her tenure as the “top cookie salesperson” in Girl Scouts. Alice started her fundraising career as a volunteer at Wisconsin Public Television in Madison, Wisconsin, blowing bubbles onto the set during pledge breaks for the Lawrence Welk Show, which launched a 30+ year affiliation with public broadcasting.

Tom Ahern has a BA and MA from Brown University and a Certificate in Advertising Art from the RI School of Design. He lives with his wife, esteemed nonprofit consultant Simone Joyaux, in Rhode Island and France. He is an award-winning copywriter and journalist. His 2019 clients for direct mail, capital campaign case statements, audits and training include USA for UNHCR; Save the Children Global; Swedish Medical (hospitals, Seattle); the Connecticut Humane Society; The Marine Mammal Center (Sausalito); Sharp Healthcare (nonprofit hospitals in San Diego) and the Native Plant Trust.
